Web 2.0 is a trend in World Wide Web technology, and web design, a second generation of web-based communities and hosted services such as social-networking sites, wikis, and blogs which aim to facilitate creativity, collaboration, and sharing among users.

Along the lines of Web 2.0 comes the idea of "Web 2.0" graphics. Web 2.0 graphics are supposed to look more modern, up to date, while sometime still have a more retro feel to them. Simplicity combined with big text, shiny buttons, gradient etc. Rounded shapes, pastel colors, buttons, footers, shading, etc. Some example site:
